The beautiful, historical town of Amherstburg brings its original art festival to Fort Malden on August 25-26. The fun filled event which was first held in 1967 as a fundraiser for the Gibson Gallery in Amherstburg, has turned into the largest arts and crafts show in all of Windsor-Essex County. The event is still a fundraiser, as it was originally intended to be, but is now an end of summer tradition that continues to rapidly grow each year. This year’s festival includes 160 artists and artisans from all over Ontario!
The great part about this event is that not only can you browse through hundreds of unique handmade items, but you get to walk the beautiful grounds of Fort Malden National Historic Park. You’ll also be able to enjoy live entertainment from local bands and musicians on both days with special shows just for the kids.
The event takes place from 10am-5pm each day and admission is $5. Children 12 and under get in free when accompanied by an adult. For more information you can visit the Gibson Gallery website.
