Just in case you need another reason to explore your own backyard, Pelee Island has you covered! If you’re looking for something new and exciting to check out the Summer, don’t miss this family friendly festival full of food, fun, art and music.
The Island Unplugged is music and arts festival that takes place in the heart of Pelee Island. It’s a joint project by Pelee Island Community Arts (Art Works) and Pelee Island Heritage Centre that aims to feature rockin’ entertainment by local, regional, national and internationally known musicians, promote family activities, partner with community and regional non-profit organizations/businesses, make environmentally friendly choices in all aspects and deliver awesome eats provided by local and regional vendors/organizations.
One of the best parts about attending this festival is that it feels like a mini getaway. It’s not just simply a drive and park situation, it’s also an adventure on the ferry with a whole new experience of the island. With an awesome lineup of performers and a folky, small community, grassroots vibe, you’ll feel like you’re thousands of miles away as you lay down your picnic blanket and enjoy a cold local drink in the sunshine. It’s almost like the coolest family camping trip ever (yes, you can camp out on the island too) but with way more people and a whole lot more to do!
