Food is a universal gateway to culture and there is no better way to celebrate that fact than by going out to explore your community during Windsor’s Carousel of the Nations festival, June 15-17 and 22-24. Whether you’re an experienced foodie, curious about learning more or just looking for something unique to do on the weekend, Carousel of the Nations, recently named as one of Canada’s top 100 festivals, cannot be missed!
We are very fortunate to live in a city that’s so culturally diverse and this festival does a wonderful job of highlighting the local ethno-cultural groups who make Windsor the perfect place to live, work, and play. This festival gives people the rare opportunity to step inside another world to experience the entertainment, food, art, history, heart and soul that make up each cultural group. Try new and exciting foods, take in a live show, look at traditional art, and soak up a whole new experience without ever paying for an airline ticket.
Just be warned that once you start indulging in Bavarian pork hocks, Caribbean Jerk Chicken, Chinese egg rolls, Filipino adobo chicken, Greek flaming cheese, Polish pierogies, Serbian chevaps, Scottish meat pies and chips, Hungarian cabbage rolls, Macedonian kebapi and Romanian pastries, it’ll be difficult to stop! Bring your appetite and get ready to discover something new and incredible in your own backyard. Check out the Carousel of the Nations website for times and menus.
