This scrumptious sandwich shop also has a cool side. With a wide selection of soft and hard ice cream, frozen yogurt, sundaes, jaw-dropping banana splits, and more, it’s hard to drive past any time of the year, especially in the summer!
During the hustle and bustle of summertime, lineups are common but trust us when we say their cold treats are worth the wait.
Locally owned and operated for over 30 years, guests can enjoy their food outdoors on the patio. Although you might come for the ice cream, we recommend trying Buskers’ equally classic subs. Their pitas, gyros, poutines, and salads are also worth diving into!

Since 1979, Waterfront Ice Cream has been one of the county’s most beloved spots for sweet treats. Boasting a menu with over 50 hand-scooped ice cream flavours, there’s lots to love about this colourful creamery.
Some of their popular items include hard ice cream, soft-serve, gelato, smoothies, milk shakes, splits, and protein shakes.
Another great thing about Waterfront is that it’s right next to the A-burg waterfront. After you get a cone, simply hop across the street to enjoy the picturesque King’s Navy Park and the cool breeze from the water.

Stop 26 is the ice cream parlor by the beach we all wish we had growing up. And when we say “right next to the beach” we mean it. Just hop across the street and you’ll be at Sandpoint Beach. How great is that?!
Stop 26 has been family-owned since it opened in 1985. They offer classic Chapmans, London Ice Cream Co., and Nestle flavours that are sure to delight. Did you know that every sundae they make comes with a freshly baked brownie and cookie? Or that their smoothies are made with real fruit and have no added sugar? Sounds like a win to us!
Plus, the building has a pick up window, making it easy to grab some frozen treats while on the go.

If chocolate dipped-waffle cones and boozy root beer floats sound too good to be true, we’re happy to tell you that they’re a reality at Buuntz and Co.!
This quaint downtown shop offers great traditional flavours with a twist. We recommend stopping by on the regular because they switch ‘em up on a weekly basis. Not that we need an excuse to keep coming back, though!

A 50s style diner with a tagalong malt shop? Yes please! There is so much to love about Route 42. Most importantly, it gives guests the option to dive right into the cold, sweet stuff or polish it off after a hearty meal.

Slinky’s offers a colourful array of cold desserts that range from chocolate-dipped and sprinkle cones to the sugary goodness of dirt n’ worms (a concoction made of chocolate ice cream, cookies, whipped cream, and nuts topped with gummy worms). Established in 2017, Lickety Splitz is one of the most modern ice cream joints in the city and its menu is proof. If you’ve never tried rolled ice cream, be prepared to be amazed! Watching them prepare your order is half the fun and with standard, lactose-free, and dairy-free options, everyone can order somethingt hey love.
