Come out to the third annual Small Biz Expo to celebrate Canada’s Small Business Month.
Guests can visit some of the city’s finest independent shops at the Giovanni Caboto Club on October 18, 2017, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. This is a great opportunity to get to know Windsor’s entrepreneurs who have positively impacted the local economy.
The Windsor-Essex Small Business Centre will be hosting this free event, where visitors can get a taste of local products and services and get to know their creators. Here, area residents who love local can shop local, as well. They’ll find regional food and drink vendors, retail products in fashion, beauty, health, and home wares, and consumer services. Attendees and participants alike can partake in networking opportunities, see live demonstrations, win door prizes, and enjoy entertainment.
Some of the businesses set to attend this year’s expo include food and beverage vendors such as Robbie’s Gourmet Sausage Co., I LUV Coffee, Sweet Revenge Bake Shop, and Licia Ruby Food Co.; artisan businesses, including Urban Art Market, Windermere Art Gallery, Witch and Whimsey, and Dave’s Woodworking; and mind and body vendors, such as H’OM Wellness Centre and Optimal Chiropractic.
Last year’s event drew 50 small business exhibitors and nearly 400 attendees. This year, the Caboto Club will be holding the expo to accommodate growing exhibitor participation. This means the event’s 75-plus vendors will be given lots of space to work. There will also be room for a new B2B Networking Lounge for non-consumer-based businesses to exhibit their work and network.
The Small Biz Expo serves to enhance public awareness of local small businesses. It’s also a great opportunity for businesses to connect with each other. All attendees will be provided with a “passport” that vendors will stamp as he or she visits shops. The individual will be entered into a prize draw once his or her passport is completed. Following the event, the Small Business Centre will contact the winners.
Local small businesses can apply to become vendors online.
