There isn’t a day of the week not filled with great live and local music in Windsor. On October 4th, 2017, musicians of all backgrounds are invited to Plug Into Music the Windsor way.
Windsor might be known for its contributions to the automotive industry but it’s also hugely involved in the music scene. From open mic nights to touring Canadian acts, live musicians are always just a bar, pub, or restaurant away. Local favourites can be seen honing their craft on a nightly basis in a city where music has always been ubiquitous. With a profound historical connection to the iconic sounds of Detroit’s Motown and techno movements, Windsor has developed a unique sound of its own, with various genres to please all tastes. Its even developed its own diverse music community.
This event, being hosted by the Music Windsor-Essex’s Music Advisory Council, aims to educate regional music workers about available professional development opportunities in the region. It will also allow attendees to network with WEMAC members, a dynamic group of professionals dedicated to elevating the profile of music in Windsor. Attendees can expect to learn about how to treat their music like a small business, receive grant writing assistance, navigate the US border for gigs, learn about local funding programs, and more!
Tickets for Plug Into Music are free but are required for entry and can be reserved here.
